Arsenal forward Reiss Nelson has reportedly declined an offer of a new contract at the club amid interest from other Premier League sides.

Nelson is one of four current established first-team players who graduated from the club’s Hale End academy, alongside Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Eddie Nketiah.

Although he scored the winning goal during injury time in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Bournemouth on March 4, the 23-year-old has found game time hard to come by this season.

Out of contract this summer, Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton is allegedly interested in signing him on a free transfer.

Nelson previously expressed a desire to stay at Arsenal beyond the end of his deal. However, the latest report on his future indicates that his stance may have changed.

According to Sami Mokbel from the Daily Mail, Nelson has turned down a new contract at Arsenal, leading to a growing belief that he will leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the current campaign.

His decision could also play a part in whether the Gunners sign a new forward this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby on their radar.

In January, Sky Sports reported that Leverkusen would require £88 million for any club to part ways with the French winger, who came through PSG’s youth system.

The German side did not want to sell the 23-year-old mid-season, which could impact the fee they are willing to accept in the summer, when there is more time to source a replacement.

However, 90min claims that Newcastle has also joined the race for Diaby and, like Arsenal, can likely offer the Frenchman the chance to play Champions League football next season.
