Sowemimo Jailed For Attempting To Steal From Former President Obasanjo

Seun Sowemimo has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for attempting to steal from ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Infoexpert24 reports that the sentencing of the 33-year-old man took place in an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The accused was sentenced without the option of a fine as he pleaded guilty to the two-count charge which includes, theft and causing a breach of peace in the area.

The Magistrate, Mrs. Olajumoke Somefun, who delivered the judgment, stated that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that the convict is guilty as charged.
Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Olakunle Shonibare told the court that Sowemimo scaled the fence into the compound of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta on April 1 with the intent to steal.
According to him, immediately Sowemimo jumped in, he was caught by one of the security guards on duty.
He said the offense contravened the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.
