If Pep Guardiola Doesn't Win The UCL This Year....What Next?

Manchester City have qualified for the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time under Pep Guardiola and will face the tough task of playing French champions Paris Saint-Germain, but if they fail to win, will the Spanish gaffer be a failure or a success?

Guardiola has won two Champions League titles, and he won both while he was coach of Barcelona, while after he left the Catalan giants for other clubs, his best result has been the semi-final, and many football fans are beginning to question his tactics.

Pep joined Bayern Munich just after they won a treble – the Champions League, German Bundesliga, and the DFB Cup – but in his three years with the Bavarian, he could only manage the league and cup title, losing the semi-finals of the Europeans prestigious trophy in all.

The 50-year-old joined Manchester City in 2016, and he has won every trophy in front of him at least twice, the Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the Community Shield, but he is yet to win the Champions League, and people are beginning to call him “fraudiola.”

Speaking ahead of their Champions League win over Dortmund, the manager admitted he will be called a failure if he doesn’t win the UCL. He said: “…The business is to win. If we don’t win, I’ll be a failure. And if we win, it will be ‘how good is Pep?’”

Josep Guardiola needs to lead Manchester City to UEFA Champions League glory, if not his success at Barcelona will be attributed to having Lionel Messi at his peak, and he will be called a failure and a cheque-book manager.
