Champions League: Real Madrid Bus Attacked On Arrival At Anfield

Liverpool Fans attacked the bus conveying the Real Madrid team to Anfield in the game against the Reds and smashed the window that Real Madrid coach, Zidane was sat next to.

Real face Liverpool in the second leg of their Champions League quarter final on Wednesday night, taking a 3-1 lead into the away game.

Ahead of the match Jurgen Klopp played down the chances of Reds producing one of their famous Anfield comebacks, saying it would be hard without fans in the ground.

Whilst no supporters will be let into Liverpool’s home ground, one managed to cause a problem outside of the ground, by throwing a bottle at the coach carrying the Spanish side.

The bottle managed to smash the window next to Real’s manager Zidane as they arrived for the match, but neither the Frenchman or anyone else was injured.

It is not the first time that Liverpool fans ‘welcoming’ the opposition to Anfield on a big Champions League night has caused controversy.

In April 2018, Klopp’s side took on Premier League rivals Manchester City in the quarter finals, with the first leg at Anfield.

A large group of fans gathered outside of Anfield and many people threw bottles, cans and even flares at the bus carrying the City players.
