1.  Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, netted a hat-trick as they crushed Manchester United 5-0 on Sunday. 2. A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, was grilled by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). A senior official of the commission said that Anyim was invited as part of an investigation in a case of alleged corruption and diversion of public funds.

3.  The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, on Sunday, kicked against the one-week sit-at-home declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. In a statement by the Secretary-General of the Chidi Ibeh-led apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Ohanaeze urged Ndigbo not to obey the order.

6. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River on Sunday received over 5,000 returnees from the All Progressives Congress (APC). PDP Chairman, Venatius Ikem, said the return of the former members and entry of new ones will boost the party’s chances ahead of future elections.


7. About 300 inmates of Oyo correctional centre on the run. The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, said on Sunday about 300 inmates who escaped from Abolongo Correctional Centre in the state are yet to return to the facility.

8. Police confirms attack on Ebonyi divisional headquarters. The Ebonyi State police command on Sunday confirmed the attack on the Unwana Divisional Headquarters in Afikpo North Local Government Area of the state.

9. NDLEA intercepts 2,060kg of illicit drugs in Lagos, five others. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 2,060 kilograms of assorted drugs at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and other parts of the country.


10. President Muhammadu Buhari will today (Monday) depart for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the investment conference organized by the Future Investment Initiative Institute.
