Buhari Holds Security Meeting After Armed Robbers’ Attempted Attack On Aso Rock (Photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday presided over a security meeting held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting had in attendance the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, National Security Adviser, and Ministers.

The nation’s service chiefs, acting Inspector-General of Police, and heads of other security agencies were also in attendance.

The meeting, which commenced about 10 am, is holding at the Conference Hall of the Office of the First Lady.

“Security Meeting ongoing, at the State House. President @MBuhari presiding, Vice President, SGF, NSA, Ministers, Service Chiefs, IGP, Intelligence Chiefs in as of the time of filing this report, the details of the meeting were yet to be made public.

Recall the presidency yesterday confirmed the attack on the residence of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

Presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu confirmed the attack in a Twitter statement on Monday night.

Infoexpert24 reported yesterday that the residences of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Gambari as well as that of an admin officer Abubakar Maikano within the premises of the Villa were specific targets.

The report added that both Gambari and Maikano were forced to temporarily abandon their residences in the Villa due to the strange occurrence.

Reacting to the news, Shehu said the Chief of Staff has confirmed that there was an attempt to burgle his house around 3 am on Monday morning but added that the attempt was not successful.

He added that Gambari’s house is located on the next street to the Villa and there is nothing to worry about.

He wrote: “The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.”

“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.”
