15-Year-Old Nigerian, Ethan Nwaneri Becomes Youngest Premier League Player

Ethan Nwaneri, a Fifteen-year-old Nigerian became the youngest player in Premier League history in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Brentford.
Ethan was born in March 2007, aged 15 years and 181 days, Nwaneri beat the record held by Harvey Elliott as he replaced Fabio Vieira in stoppage time at Brentford Community Stadium on Sunday.
Nwaneri has made several appearances for Arsenal Under-18s and played for England Under-16s when he was 14.
Arsenal’s win over Brentford took them back to the top of the table following victories for Manchester City and Tottenham on Saturday.
Ethen Nwaneri has scored four goals and provided four assists in his appearances for the U18s and U21s this season.

“He has great feet” – coach praises
In a friendly game against Slough for the U-18s, Nwaneri was hailed as a player Arsenal can hope for by the Slough coach.
“I understand their number 10 has got great feet, he’s only a real youngster,” said Baker. “I think he’s a real high hope for them at Arsenal. He’s got absolutely unbelievable ability,” he added.
Nwaneri currently represents the England U-16s and has also made one cap with the U-17s but is eligible to play for Nigeria through his parents.
He made headlines last year when he scored on his debut for the U-18s as a 14-year-old.
