Zinedine Zidane
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has revealed that he is staying at Santiago Bernabéu amidst rumours of his resignation.
Infexpert24 reports that Zidane has dismissed the notion that he might resign from his role as the Real Madrid coach following Real Madrid’s latest defeat, this time to Shakhtar Donetsk
A reporter at his post-match press conference bluntly asked the Frenchman if he was going to resign and Zidane said: “No, not at all. I’m not going to resign. It’s a bad result, but we have to continue. We’ve had difficult moments before. We have another match left in this group and we have to win.”
Zidane went on to offer his analysis of the match. He said: “I don’t think we deserved to win the match in LaLiga the other day, but I do think we deserved to win this one today.
We were good in the first half. Their goals then did us a lot of damage because we were playing well and pressing well high up. We had two or three chances and hit the post, but the ball didn’t want to go in. Then, it got complicated.”
Discussing Real Madrid’s situation in the group, Zidane said that he remains optimistic. “What happened today was a shame because we didn’t deserve it, but now we’ll have to win the next match. But, we’re going to believe and we’re going to fight.” – said Zidane.
