Wolves vs Arsenal Predicted Lineup: Team News, Kick-Off Time, And How To Watch

Gunners will clash with Wolves on Saturday night as Arsenal look to go into the World Cup break top of the Premier League.

Victory for the Gunners will see them remain top of the table until Boxing Day, though should Manchester City fail to beat Brentford earlier in the day that will already be confirmed.

This fixture was laden with drama last season, and similar tension should be expected in this one.

Mikel Arteta’s side have to respond to a rare setback, having been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Brighton in midweek. The Arsenal boss made ten changes to his side for that match, and will hope the return of his first-team stars brings it with a return to winning ways.

Wolves have Julen Lopetegui confirmed as their new manager, though the Spaniard will not take charge until after this match. He is likely to be watching on from the stands though as Wolves, 19th in the table, get one last chance to move in the right direction before the break.

The Gunners sustained just their third defeat of the season in all competitions in the week as they were beaten 3-1 by Brighton in the Carabao Cup third round. However, Mikel Arteta won’t be too bothered by the early exit considering their current position in the Premier League.

The Spaniard’s side returned to the top of the table last weekend following a dominant 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. It was a stellar display on the road, and victory in the Midlands will see Arsenal head into the World Cup break as Premier League leaders.

As for Wolves, they’ll be hoping that Lopetegui’s arrival will be enough for them to stage a revival during the second half of the season. They head into Saturday’s game 19th in the table having won just one of their last eight league games.

Lopetegui won’t be taking charge of Saturday’s game meaning interim boss Steve David will be without defender Nelson Semedo after he was sent off in last Saturday’s defeat to Brighton.

Diego Costa is also suspended, while Raul Jimenez, Pedro Neto, and Sasa Kalajdzic are all sidelined.

Matheus Nunes, though, should return to the fold on Saturday.

Arsenal Team News

Mikel Arteta rang the changes for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup tie against Brighton on Wednesday, with William Saliba being the only player to retain his place from Sunday’s win at Chelsea.

We should see a similar team at Molineux compared to what we saw at Stamford Bridge. In fact, Arteta may well name an unchanged XI for the final game ahead of the World Cup.

Arsenal: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.

Wolves vs Arsenal team news

Diego Costa is once again suspended after being sent off for a headbutt against Brentford, though Nelson Semedo is available again for the hosts after his recent red card.

Jonny is a slight doubt after picking up a knock in the Carabao Cup win over Leeds, while Matheus Nunes faces a race to overcome a shoulder injury.

Wolves vs Arsenal prediction

Wolves have managed just two wins in the Premier League all season, against the sides currently 18th and 20th in the table.

Despite their woeful start to the campaign, Molineux will be lifted by Lopetegui under the lights on Saturday and I’m expecting this to be a tricky game for Arsenal.

Arsenal meanwhile were superb at Stamford Bridge and will be confident of swiftly moving on from that Brighton defeat, which can be put down to the number of changes made to the side.

It could be a game played at a slightly slower intensity than usual, as players think about the World Cup starting next week, but Arsenal should have enough regardless to cement their place at the top of the table.
