Wives of Argentina Players Flee Hotel Over Security Concerns Before World Cup Final

Argentina’s preparations ahead of World Cup Finals have taken a hit as some of the wives of a couple of Argentina stars were reportedly forced to flee from their hotel due to security concerns.

WAGs and children of the Argentine players were staying at the Waterfront hotel. There were cases of powercuts at night at the property, leaving the hotel in darkness. The families didn’t feel safe there anymore and had to be moved to a different property.

According to reports that the wives of Lautaro Martinez, Angel Di Maria, and Papu Gomez were among those affected when power went off at the Waterfront hotel. The report further states that the children and parents of the Argentina stars had to be taken to a different hotel.

Jorgelina Cardoso, the wife of Juventus star Angel Di Maria; Linda Raff, the wife of Alejandro Gomez; and Agustina Gandolfo, the wife of Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez were among those who were moved.

This comes days after Daily Star had reported that Martinez’s wife had to be taken to hospital after she found a piece of glass in her drink.

She was out at a club celebrating Argentina’s win over Croatia before being rushed to a medical facility to ascertain that everything was okay.

Argentina are looking to end their 36-year-long FIFA World Cup drought. They reached the final with an emphatic 3-0 semifinal win against Croatia on Tuesday.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi has been in spectacular form in the tournament, bagging five goals and three assists. He has a date with destiny as La Albiceleste take on France on Sunday. Winning the World Cup will mark the crowing moment of his remarkable career and complete his set of major trophies across club and international football.

However, fans will hope that the incident regarding the powercut at the Waterfront Hotel doesn’t deter Lionel Scaloni’s team’s preparation.
