Sheikh Jassim Picks Between Neymar, Kane, And Osimhen To Be First Man United Signing

Sheikh Jassim of Qatar who is leading a takeover bid for Manchester United has reportedly already identified the club’s first signing should the acquisition be successful.

According to reports, Jassim is planning a sensational offer for Brazilian star Neymar, despite the club’s manager, Erik ten Hag, reportedly eyeing a marquee striker for his summer transfer plans.

Other players on the shortlist reportedly include Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, as well as Goncalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani of Benfica and Eintracht Frankfurt, respectively.

However, Jassim’s preference for Neymar, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, would certainly represent a statement of ambition for the club.

While PSG’s attacking trident of Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe has not lived up to expectations, with the team failing to secure the Champions League, Neymar is still widely regarded as one of the most talented players in the game.

He is currently recovering from an ankle ligament injury that required surgery but is expected to be fit for next season.

However, Neymar’s acquisition may put him at odds with ten Hag’s reported transfer request of a new striker, center-back, and goalkeeper, as the Brazilian forward is not a conventional number nine.

It remains to be seen whether Jassim and ten Hag can find common ground on the matter, but it is clear that the potential Qatari-backed bid has big plans to make a splash at Old Trafford if their offer is successful.

Meanwhile, ten Hag is said to be keen to receive word of the club’s summer budget for new additions once the takeover is completed.

With a marquee signing, such as Neymar, in the pipeline, it will be interesting to see what other transfer moves the new ownership will make to boost United’s chances of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
