Saudi Lawyer Sues Ronaldo, Demands Portugal Star Arrest And Deportation

Things seem not to be going well for Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia following his move to the country earlier in the year.

The former Real Madrid star shocked the world when he announced he was going to continue his football career in the oil-rich country following his fallout with English Premier League club, Manchester United.

The Portugal captain arrived in the country with much fanfare and his celebrity status seems to have attracted more attention to the Saudi league.

However, the report suggests that things are not looking good star striker following the club’s recent poor results. Ronaldo cut a frustrated figure after following Al Nassr’s 2-0 defeat to Odion Ighalo’s Al Hilal.

While leaving the pitch, Ronaldo appeared to respond to the crowed taunting him by singing the name of Lionel Messi. It seems Ronaldo’s response was by holding his groin area, an expression consider indecent in the country.

To this end, a Saudi Lawer, Nouf bin Ahmed has called for the arrest and deportation of Ronaldo, while some journalists insist the Saudi FA terminate his contract.

“I don’t follow the sport. Even if the crowd provoked Ronaldo, he didn’t know how to react. Cristiano’s behaviour is a crime. An indecent public act is one of the crimes that allows for arrest and deportation if committed by a foreigner. We will present a petition to the Public Ministry regarding the issue.

“The Lawsuit has been submitted to the P.P. against Cristiano. We will keep you informed of the case,” the lawyer tweeted.

However, Al Nassr claim Ronaldo was only holding his groin due to an injury.

“Ronaldo is suffering from an injury. A duel with Gustavo Cuellar (Al Hilal) started with Ronaldo being hit in a very sensitive area. This is confirmed information. The fans may think what they want,” a club statement reads.
