Reason Arsenal’s Match Against Man City Was Postponed Revealed
Infoexpert24 understands that Arsenal was all set to play Manchester City on Wednesday, October 19 before the postponements.
Both City and Gunner’s fans are itching to see the drama unfold in Arsenal’s mouth-watering clash with Manchester City – but they’ll have to wait a little longer.
The Gunners and City have been the two of the top-performing teams in the Premier League this season and Pep Guardiola’s side was scheduled to travel to the Emirates in the nearby future but the game has been postponed.
Arsenal’s Premier League fixture against Manchester City has been postponed to accommodate the North London club’s previous called-off Europa League clash with PSV Eindhoven.
The Gunners were scheduled to play PSV on Thursday, September 15 but the match got postponed due to concerns over police resources following the sad death of Queen Elizabeth II.
And, Arsenal was told that they would have to complete their Europa League group games before Thursday, November 3, or face the risk of surrendering three points.
But Prem chiefs agreed with Arsenal to move one of their league games so that PSV encounter could happen.
A statement from the Premier League said: ” The Premier League has agreed with UEFA to postpone Arsenal FC’s Premier League match with Manchester City FC, originally due to be played on 19 October, to allow for Arsenal FC’s re-arranged UEFA Europa League game with PSV Eindhoven.
“Arsenal FC v PSV Eindhoven, originally scheduled to be played on Thursday 15 September, will now be played on Thursday 20 October 18:00.”
The reason is that the Gunners will play their re-arranged fixture against PSV Eindhoven. The game against the Dutch giants did not go ahead due to a lack of security. Hence the shortage of security happened because most of the police officers were managing the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
There is yet to be an agreed date for Arsenal’s eye-catching clash against Manchester City.
The Premier League said: “A new date for the Arsenal FC v Manchester City FC fixture will be announced in due course.”
But reports suggest that they could squeeze the big fixture towards the end of the season once the World Cup has concluded.
The Gunners will be playing their game against the likes of Wolves, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest. Hence, many Arsenal fans have termed the games as winnable. Therefore, the Gunners are looking to top the Premier League table before the FIFA World Cup break.
