Rashford Hits Out At ‘Nonsense’ Manchester United Contract Claim
Marcus Rashford has strongly refuted recent media reports claiming that he is demanding a £500,000-per-week contract from Manchester United.
Despite his brilliant form this season, with 27 goals across all competitions, the 25-year-old will enter the final year of his current contract with the club in the summer, leaving him free to leave on a free transfer if he and the club do not agree to a new deal.
Reports emerged on Thursday that Rashford was holding out for a new contract that would be worth more than £500,000 per week when bonuses were included.

However, it has been suggested that United is reluctant to offer new contracts until the outcome of the club’s potential takeover is determined.
Rashford, on the other hand, has refuted the claims and stated that he has been respectful to the club during the negotiations. Taking to Twitter to address the speculation, he wrote:
‘The club and myself have been respectful to one another, and that’s how it will remain.
‘My focus is purely on finishing as well as possible in the league and winning trophies.’
Rashford also wrote on Instagram: ‘Another non-story flying around about my advisers and me making demands.
‘It’s complete nonsense! My aim and the club’s aims are to finish as high as possible in the league and try and win a cup or two.’
Rashford is a key player for United and has been instrumental in their recent success.
He has shown great loyalty to the club, having joined the academy at the age of seven and going on to establish himself as a star player.
He has also been a vocal advocate for social justice issues, such as child poverty and racial inequality.
As the negotiations for his contract continue, United fans will be hopeful that Rashford and the club can come to an agreement that will keep him at Old Trafford for years to come.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the potential takeover, United’s management will be well aware of Rashford’s value to the team and the importance of keeping him happy and motivated.
