The duo of Victor Osimhen and Simy Nwankwo were on target as Napoli beat Crotone in a seven-goal thriller at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, on Saturday afternoon.
Simon Nwankwo scored twice, but again it was not enough as Napoli beat Crotone 4-3 in the Italian Serie A game with Victor Osimhen also on target.
Four goals were scored in the opening 45 minutes of the encounter starting with Lorenzo Insigne’s 19th-minute opener for the hosts.
Osimhen doubled the lead for the Gennaro Gattuso’s side in the 22nd minutes after good work down the flank from Lorenzo Insigne.
Simy Nwankwo reduced the deficit for his side almost immediately, but Dries Mertens restored the host’s two goals lead just two minutes after the half-hour mark. Simy netted his second of the game within three minutes of the second half to give the Calabrese hope of a comeback and it was his 15th league goal of the season.
Crotone finally draws level in the 59th minutes, thanks to a beautiful finish from Junior Messias. Napoli however scored the winner when Giovanni Di Lorenzo grabbed their fourth of the game with just 20 remaining on the clock.
