Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Josh Maja scored for Fulham, who are battling relegation, but his goal was not enough as Arsenal levelled late on in the match to make sure the London derby ended 1-1.
On-loan Real Madrid midfielder, Daniel Ceballos thought he had given Arsenal the lead in the 40th minute with a header, but his goal was chalked off as Bukayo Saka was offside. In the 59th minute, Mario Lemina was fouled in the box by Gabriel Magalhães, and Nigeria’s Josh Maja stepped up and blasted the ball into the roof of the net. The pressure from the Gunners paid off as young Edward Nketiah tapped into an empty net in the 97th minute to salvage a point for the host.
Arsenal remain ninth on the Premier League table and could drop to 10th or 11th depending on results from Leeds United and Aston Villa. Fulham, on the other hand, remained in the relegation zone, 6 points below safety and with a game in hand.
