Netherlands Fans Troll Messi Ahead Of World Cup 2022 Quarter Final Clash With Argentina [Video]
The Netherlands will take on Argentina in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, and the Dutch fans are up for the challenge.
Netherlands enjoyed a convincing victory over the USA to book a place in the quarter-final, while Argentina were made to work for their 2-1 victory over Australia.
Goal recently shared a hilarious video of Dutch fans being quizzed about the upcoming game, especially their thoughts on Messi. While some joked that they didn’t know who Messi was, others said that the Dutch defence, and Daley Blind, were more than well-equipped to deal with the threat of the Paris Saint-Germain star.
Fans were also asked who they believed was the best player in the Netherlands’ squad at the moment, and while Virgil van Dijk got a fair few votes, Frenkie de Jong was a resounding favourite among fans.
Supporters also believed that Frenkie was the one player who could make a difference against the Argentinian side.
Former Barcelona star Messi will come up against a current Barcelona star in de Jong when the two sides meet on December 9. The winner will set up a semi-final clash with either France or the winner of England and Senegal.
