Cristiano Ronaldo
Infoexpert24 reports that despite strong rumors circling since the summer around interest to bring Ronaldo back to Italy, the club has distanced themselves from the Old Trafford star.
Ronaldo is believed to be open to a return to Serie A, less than 18 months after leaving Juventus to move back to Old Trafford.
The Portuguese forward has struggled to break into Erik ten Hag‘s first team this season, starting only six of his 12 appearances across all competitions and scoring just twice.

Ronaldo faces an uncertain future at United after he was recently axed from the first-team squad as he refused to come on as a substitute in the Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Serie A leaders Napoli have been credited with an interest in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who is out of contract with the Red Devils in the summer of 2023.
However, club director Giuntoli has dismissed speculation over a proposed move for Ronaldo and expects a quiet winter window for the Italian outfit.
Speaking to DAZN, Giuntoli said: “Ronaldo in January? We won’t sign any player in January. We don’t need to change anything in this team. We’re doing great and we’re not planning any signing, as of today.
“I might be repetitive, but we really are not thinking about the transfer market right now. And even if I did have to talk about it, I would say we need nothing, because there are no problems in the squad that need to be repaired.
“Things are going so well that we would not make a single move.”
Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo are both distracted by questions over the forward’s future, but it has become clear that the best solution is for him to leave as soon as possible.
After Ronaldo had made his feelings clear in the summer that he wanted to leave, United acted reasonably at the time. But just like the time they kept Wayne Rooney away from Chelsea against his wishes, it now looks like the Red Devils hierarchy may have made a mistake.
Ronaldo is still capable of playing every week, if not more, and gains nothing from being a substitute for a manager that doesn’t want him, in a team that no longer needs him.
There’s more to consider. Right now, the relationship between the club and player, and player and fans, is strained, but it is not broken. Ronaldo made a successful return to the club he built his name, and for all his antagonistic efforts to display his unhappiness, he has not caused internecine chaos – yet. When Ronaldo retires he will want to look back on his legacy with pride, and part of that is more than just his goalscoring records and trophies; it is also the respect he will have from many United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Portugal fans.
Napoli have made an impressive unbeaten start to the 2022-23 campaign across all competitions, winning each of their last 11 matches, with Luciano Spalletti’s side sitting top of Serie A and Group A of the Champions League.
Two of Napoli’s standout performers so far this season have been striker Victor Osimhen and summer recruit Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who have contributed to 21 goals between them.
Osimhen has been linked with a potential switch to the Premier League, with the likes of Man United, Chelsea and Tottenham believed to be keeping tabs on the 23-year-old Nigerian.
