Mourinho Accuses Roma Player Of Betraying His Team Says He Needs To Find Himself Another Club

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has accused an unnamed player of betraying his teammates.

Mourinho was commenting after Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Sassuolo where Tammy Abraham saw his 80th-minute strike canceled out five minutes later by Andrea Pinamonti.

Speaking to DAZN, Mourinho said: “It was a team that wanted to win against a tough opponent, I am sorry that the efforts of the team were betrayed by the attitude of one unprofessional player.

“An unprofessional attitude that is not fair to his teammates, that is what disappoints me. A point away from home is still not a negative result and I am happy with the general attitude of my squad.”

When questioned about the identity of the individual, Mourinho replied: “I won’t tell you. I had 16 players on the field tonight and I liked the attitude of 15 of them. In January, he needs to find himself another club.”

There is a belief among the Italian press that Mourinho’s comments were focused on Rick Karsdorp who appeared as a second-half substitute According to the Daily Mail.

The Dutchman came on in the 65th minute and endured a difficult time, which included a perceived lack of effort in the build-up to Sassuolo’s late equalizer.

Karsdorp has been at Roma since 2017, with the right-back having made 122 appearances for the club.
