Mikel Arteta speaks On Arsenal’s Title Challenge And William Saliba’s Injury

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the team’s centre-back William Saliba won’t be available for their upcoming Premier League game against Chelsea.

Saliba has been out of action since the Europa League last 16  second leg clash with Sporting CP in March, and the Gunners have struggled without him in their starting XI.

Since their wins over Crystal Palace and Leeds, Arsenal have failed to secure a victory in their last four games, and their loss to title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium has seen them slip to second place in the league table.

When questioned about Saliba’s potential return for the Chelsea game, Arteta revealed in his pre-match press conference, “He’s not going to be involved tomorrow. We will have to wait until the next game to see where we are.”

Arteta also spoke about Arsenal’s chances in the title race, stating that the team’s fate is no longer in their hands:

“We have achieved what was difficult to achieve and we can still achieve the Premier League. We are Arsenal football club, we have to be here to win every single trophy. The demands have to be there. Now it is not in our hands, what is in our hands is to try and win the games.”
