Manchester United refuse to let Mason Greenwood return to training until next season at the earliest
Manchester United have reportedly informed Mason Greenwood that he will not be allowed to return to training before the end of the season.
The 21-year-old forward has not played for United since January 2021 when he was charged with attempted rape, controlling behavior, and assault.
However, all charges against Greenwood were dropped in February, leading to United conducting their own process to determine his future at the club.

MailOnline reports that Greenwood has held discussions with United officials and expressed his desire to return to the team as soon as possible.
However, the club has decided not to permit his return until next season at the earliest. There are allegedly differing opinions within United about Greenwood’s potential return.
Some members of the football side believe he should be given a second chance, while others in the commercial department are concerned about the potential damage his comeback could have on the club’s brand.

A representative of Greenwood told The Athletic earlier this month: ‘Mason is 21, he has been cleared and should be allowed the opportunity to rebuild and move forward with his young life.’
It is understood that some United players have major reservations about his return.
Two Turkish clubs have reportedly made loan offers for Greenwood, but United will not approve any deal until their investigation is complete.
Greenwood’s current contract, which is set to expire in 2025, pays him £70,000 per week, with a reported remaining value of £8.1 million.
