Lampard wants no part in Mount-Chelsea Standoff

Chelsea caretaker coach, Frank Lampard has stated that he does not want to be involved in the ongoing contract standoff between the club and midfielder, Mason Mount.

The England international is refusing to put pen to paper on a new deal and Stamford Bridge despite Chelsea owners making several attempts to secure the future of the talented England star.

It is believed that Mount is currently considering his future and a move away from the Blues looks to be top on the card. Reports have suggested that Liverpool are keen to bring the player to Anfield and contacts were already made with his agents.

Also, Arsenal, another London side are said to be interested in signing Mount with Gunners coach, Mikel Arteta believed to be a huge admirer of the midfielder.

New financial powerhouse, Newcastle United are said to be willing to splash the cash on the England midfielder as they look to strengthen their squad for a possible Champions League and Premier League challenge next season.

Speaking on the Mount’s future, Lampard insists he will not be taking part in a move to help keep the player at the club, insisting that it is an issue for both Chelsea and Mount to sort out.

“It will be the opinion of the club and the opinion of Mason, so that is between them. I think my opinion’s pretty clear, I don’t need to spell out what I think of Mason as a player, but he is not my one to get into, that is between them,” Lampard said.
