Chelsea’s head coach Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his frustration over Cole Palmer’s action of throwing a bottle at him, describing his feelings as ‘so angry.’
The incident unfolded at Stamford Bridge last week during Chelsea’s dramatic 2-2 draw against Arsenal, where the team squandered a two-goal lead.
Palmer, the summer acquisition from Manchester City valued at £42.5m, had showcased a stellar performance, even finding the back of the net.

However, the joyous atmosphere turned sour when, following Arsenal’s 84th-minute equalizer, Palmer vented his frustration by hurling a bottle towards the dugout, inadvertently hitting his own coach, Pochettino.
Despite Palmer’s remorse and sincere apology, Pochettino’s annoyance was palpable. He even lightened the situation with a touch of humor, quipping about dropping Palmer from the team. T
Pochettino, speaking at his press conference on Friday ahead of Saturday’s match against Brentford, has laughed off the incident and joked about dropping Palmer.

‘I was so angry (laughs) because I didn’t expect or see when it came,’ Pochettino said.
‘When I turned and he was like, ‘Sorry!’ – it was a little unlucky. Good thing that it didn’t damage me!’
Palmer, explaining the incident on Tuesday, said: ‘When they (Arsenal) scored their second goal I was getting a drink.
‘I went to throw the bottle away, as you do, but didn’t look. I just saw it loop dead slow and hit the gaffer.
‘I said sorry to him and apologised properly after the game. Hopefully he won’t drop me for that! We get on well. I try to show him every day in training what I can do. Work hard and just try to repay him because he puts a lot of faith in us.’
