Graham Potter Name 4 Chelsea Players Set To Return From Injury Ahead of Fulham Clash

Graham Potter said four Chelsea players are back in contention for today’s clash against Fulham but is still without a string of first-team stars.

The Blues have been dealing with what Potter described as an “unprecedented” injury situation this season.

Last month, Chelsea’s extensive injury list includes as many as 11 players following Denis Zakaria’s addition.

Graham Potter will have Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Raheem Sterling, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek available to him for Chelsea’s encounter with Fulham later today.

The Blues have been going through something of an injury crisis, although they signed enough players in the January transfer window to help ease that without anyone recovering.

‘We’ve got Ben Chilwell Reece James, Raheem [Sterling] and Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] back in the squad. Not 90 minutes but certainly in the squad,’ Potter told a press conference on Thursday.

There are still six players missing, though, with Wesley Fofana close to a return but not there yet, while five others remain in recovery.

‘Wesley has been training partly with the team and will be stepping that up next week,’ said the Blues boss.

‘Still without Denis [Zakaria], [Christian] Pulisic, [Mateo] Kovacic, [N’Golo] Kante and [Armando] Broja.’

Loan signing Joao Felix also remains out after being sent off on his debut last month, also against Fulham. The Portugal international will be back for the trip to West Ham on 11 February.

Potter was not sure whether record signing Enzo Fernandez will be eligible to play on Friday, with paperwork still needing to be completed.

‘We will see. We have to get through the paperwork, he’s got to make sure he gets the clearance and all that,’ he said.

‘I’ve spoken to him, he’s an impressive young man. My Spanish isn’t great, and his English isn’t great, so we needed a translator, but we will get there.

‘I’m looking forward to working with him.’

Mykhailo Mudryk will be hoping to get his first start after coming on and impressing against Liverpool in his debut last time out.
