Google Takes A Swipe At LG With New Pixel 6 Ad [VIDEO]

Google seems to have taken a cheeky jab at LG with the new Pixel 6 phone Advertisement.

Google’s Pixel 6 series video Advertisement tries to convince LG owners to switch to Pixels.

The new Google Pixel 6 ad listed 113 reasons why people should switch to the Pixel line “when the maker of your old phone stops making phones.”

With the inscription above, a lot of people were of the opinion that Google was systematically referring to LG. The South Korean manufacturer exited the smartphone business earlier this year.

It’s a rather interesting tactic on Google’s part, perhaps suggesting where the company is hoping to make market-share gains. After all, LG was pretty big in the Americas but wasn’t a top-five player in the likes of Europe and Asia. So presumably Google is hoping to fill the hole LG left behind in the US and Canada.

The video isn’t a one-trick pony though, as it mentions legitimate selling points like the camera experience, feature drops, car crash detection, and battery life.

Some of that hype is from Google announcing the phone months before it was released and some of it comes from the phone’s bold two-tone design, which washes away the bad taste left by the understated Pixel 5. The Pixel 6 is the most significant phone upgrade Google has made since it launched the Pixel line in 2016.
