Gareth Southgate Explains Why He Dropped Arsenal Star From England Euro 2024 Qualifiers Squad

Gareth Southgate, manager of the England national football team says that Ben White is ranked lower than three other rivals as the Arsenal defender has been dropped from England squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Recall Ben White withdrew from the World Cup squad due to personal reasons. Southgate explained his decision to drop White from the squad, stating that he wants to give other players a chance to prove themselves.

According to Southgate, White’s withdrawal from the World Cup squad left a cloud over his future with the national team.

In midfield, Southgate has selected a strong group of players, including Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Conor Gallagher, and James Maddison.

The majority of forwards who traveled to Qatar also keep their places, with Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both automatic picks for Southgate.

However, there is a shock omission in the form of Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling.
