Game-Changing Move: Chelsea Receives Instruction On £172m Mbappe Transfer

Kylian Mbappe has received encouragement to hold out for a move to Chelsea if he wants to experience the challenges of the Premier League.

The 24-year-old forward’s future at Paris Saint-Germain has become increasingly uncertain, as his contract at Les Parc des Princes is set to expire at the end of the upcoming season.

Last month, Mbappe confirmed his decision not to extend his stay in the French capital beyond 2024, casting doubt on his future ahead of the summer transfer window.

PSG reportedly angered by the public announcement are now considering selling him rather than risking losing him on a free transfer next year according to L’Equipe.

While Real Madrid has been heavily linked with a move for Mbappe, the Spanish giants might face financial constraints following their record-breaking signing of Jude Bellingham.

Meeting PSG’s asking price which is rumored to be as high as €200 million (£171.6m), could prove challenging for Los Blancos, as reported by Marca.

Given the potential financial limitations, Florent Malouda predicts that Mbappe may ultimately sign a contract extension with PSG.

Speaking to Genting Casino, the former Chelsea winger stated, “This is about trying to put pressure on his club to give him a project that fulfills his ambitions. I don’t think PSG will be surprised by his request, and I also think that the story becomes much bigger in the media because the transfer window is open. He had the opportunity to go to Madrid and he extended his contract, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he found an agreement with PSG in the future. I would be very surprised if he left this summer.”

Although a departure from Paris seems unlikely this summer, if Mbappe desires to test himself in the English top-flight, he has been advised to wait for Chelsea’s interest.

Malouda further added, “I think he will try the Premier League, but right now, I don’t see any team apart from Manchester City that would attract him. It is not the right time for him to come to the Premier League. He should wait for Chelsea to come back to the top level before he considers a move to England.”

When asked about the possibility of Mbappe reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge, Malouda responded, “Possibly.

Chelsea needs to regain their position with the right project and environment for players to flourish. With a player like Mbappe, you bring him in when all the conditions are perfect.

The arrival of Haaland at Manchester City is a perfect example. When he joined, everything was ready for him, and he was able to showcase his brilliance immediately.

Mbappe is on the same level, and he needs to join a team with an already functioning system.”

As speculation surrounding Mbappe’s future intensifies, football fans eagerly await further developments to see where the highly sought-after French forward will eventually land.
