Full List Of Officers Who Died Alongside General Attahiru In Plane Crash

Infoexpert24 has obtained the names of the flight crew and other officers who were on board the crashed military plane that claimed the life of the chief of army staff, General Ibrahim Attahiru.

Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru who was appointed by President Buhari perished along side with 10 others in a plane crash en route Kaduna on Friday 21st May, 2021.

His sad demise has however thrown Nigeria into a state of mourning as it loses its Chief of Army Staff. Ghgossip has compiled the full list of the entourage of the Chief of Army Staff and the identities of the crew. See list below;

4. Brig Gen Kuliya ( the directorate of military intelligence)
5. Maj LA Hayat
6. Maj Hamza
7. SGT Umar Crew
8. FLT LT Asaniyi
9. Flt LT Olufade
10. SGT Adesanya
11. ACM Oyedepo

Reacting to the sad incident, President Buhari, Shehu Sani, Nigerian Army and many others have taken to the various social media handles to condole with the families of the lost souls.

“Deeply saddened by the air crash that claimed the lives of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officers. All of them are heroes who paid the ultimate price for peace and security in the land.

This crash is one mortal blow to our underbelly, at a time our Armed Forces are poised to end the security challenges facing the country. My condolences to the families of the deceased, the entire military, and all Nigerians. The deaths of these officers will not be in vain!”

The Nigerian Army wrote;

The Nigerian Army regrets to announce the passing away of its Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru. The sad event occurred following an air crash in Kaduna which also claimed the lives of 10 other officers including the crew.

The COAS was enroute Kaduna from Abuja on Friday, 21 May, 2021 when the unfortunate incident happened. Details of the sad incident and burial arrangements will be communicated soon. Mohammed Yerima Brigadier General Director Army Public Relations 21 May 2021
