Cristiano Ronaldo Banned From Making Al-Nassr Debut – See Reason

Cristiano Ronaldo has been banned from making his Al-Nassr debut due to FIFA regulations – having been handed a two-game suspension for smashing an autistic boy’s phone.

Infoexpert24 reported that Ronaldo was unveiled as an Al-Nassr player on Tuesday evening.

The Portuguese international received a spine-tingling reception as he presented to the club’s fans.

The 37-year-old, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, has not yet served a two-match FA ban which came after he smashed the phone onto the ground after United lost to Everton at Goodison Park.

FIFA regulations say that bans that are imposed by different federations do carry over – with Al-Nassr not able to watch their new man in action against Al-Ta’ee on Thursday (January 5).

Ronaldo, who is earning £175million-a-year after leaving Europe, will not be able to feature despite fans selling out the 28,000 tickets.

With Ronaldo also hit with a £50,000 fine after the incident, which followed a 1-0 defeat, the 14-year-old boy was left with a bruised and puffy hand, according to his mum.

The club are yet to confirm when Ronaldo will be able to make his ban after fans turned up in their thousands to great the five-time Champions League winner to Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo wrote at the time: “It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game.

“I would like to apologise for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship.”

Following Ronaldo’s high-profile transfer, reports suggested that he could end up back in the Premier League should Newcastle United secure Champions League football.
