Confirmed TV stations that will air Nigeria Vs Algeria Friendly Game Live

Super Eagles’s international friendly against the Fennecs of Algeria will be televised live through either African  Independent Television (AIT) or SuperSports, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed.

Algeria will battle Gernot Rohr’s side in an international friendly game at the Wörthersee Stadion, Klagenfurt, in Austria on Friday.

According to NFF Media Director, Ademola Olajire, the federation’s marketing department has reached an understanding with both AIT and SuperSports to broadcast the games to Nigerians as part of efforts to get Super Eagles’ fans close to the team.

Olajire reaffirmed that former Germany U20 captain, Kevin Akpoguma was cleared by FIFA’s single judge to dorn the green-white-green henceforth.

“His clearance solidifies a dependable backline of Kenneth Omeruo, Leon Balogun, Chidozie Awaziem, William Ekong, Olaoluwa Aina, Jamilu Collins, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi and first-time invitee Zaidu Sanusi,” he added.

Coach Gernot Rohr also has in his team Captain Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Kenneth Omeruo, but he has to do without electrifying forward Victor Osimhen and midfield lynchpin Wilfred Ndidi.

On why he chose his team to play the Super Eagles,

“Nigeria is a benchmark match, especially in the first half, we could have led 3-0. They are always a very close match against them. Moreover, they won more than we did. I am looking for the difficulty against Nigeria to progress,” Algerian coach, Belmadi told a news conference on Wednesday.

The Desert Foxes defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 when both sides met at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final, thanks to Riyad Mahrez’s dramatic 94th-minute winner.

The second game against Tunisia comes up three days later. All the matches will hold in Austria.

This match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria means that Algeria will defend an 18-match unbeaten run when the leading African national teams return to action this week after 10 months of inactivity due to the coronavirus pandemic.
