Chelsea Hires New Manager With ‘No d***heads’ Rule

Gilbert Enoka, the manager who introduced a “no d***heads” rule to the All Blacks squad has been hired by Chelsea.

Enoka has been brought in by the Blues to consult the club on matters relating to team culture, having been the New Zealand rugby leadership manager since 2000.

During that time, the All Blacks won the Rugby World Cup twice, in 2011 and 2015, and Enoka famously introduced a “no d***heads” policy within the team.

Clarifying his unique rule in a 2017 interview, he explained: “A d***head makes everything about them. They are people who put themselves ahead of the team, people who think they’re entitled to things, expect the rules to be different for them, people operating deceitfully in the dark, or being unnecessarily loud about their work.”

Enoka has yet to begin working with Chelsea and is expected to take up his new role in the coming weeks, once the club’s new signings have been integrated into the squad.

Chelsea spent almost £300million on eight new signings in January as Graham Potter overhauled his squad during his first transfer window in charge.

Enoka will arrive at Stamford Bridge after a previous six-year spell as a mental skills coach for New Zealand’s men’s cricket team. The former PE teacher also spent three years with the country’s netball team.

His appointment on a consultancy basis comes as Chelsea endure a difficult season that sees them adrift of the Premier League’s top four after 21 matches.

Potter’s side are currently ninth in the table following their goalless draw with Fulham on Friday and trail the Champions League places by 10 points.

In other news, Chelsea are currently talking with several companies over their lucrative new front-of-shirt sponsor to replace Three. Let us remind you, Three was signed on a $40 million contract for a year deal.

As per reports, a number of firms have expressed their desire to appear on the front of the shirt for the upcoming season.

If Chelsea is going ahead with their plans, this move will certainly delight their supporters who were angered by the telecommunications giant’s reaction to the sanctions that was imposed on the club in 2022.
