Erik ten Hag has reportedly told Maguire that the club is open to selling him this summer, as the England international recently lost the captain’s armband under the Red Devils’ management.

Maguire’s playing time has been limited since Ten Hag’s arrival last summer, with only eight Premier League starts in the 2022/23 season.

This lack of regular game time has raised doubts about the defender’s future at Old Trafford. The 30-year-old has been weighing his options, with reported interest from West Ham, Newcastle, and Serie A giants Inter and Juventus.

The Blues have the financial capacity to cover the player’s wages in full, which sets them apart from other potential suitors. This flexibility could be a decisive factor in Maguire’s potential move to Stamford Bridge.

As the transfer window approaches its final stages, Chelsea will be looking to secure defensive reinforcements to address Fofana’s absence and strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.

The addition of a seasoned defender like Maguire would provide valuable experience and leadership to the team.
