Big Blow For Chelsea And Liverpool As Victor Osimhen Reveals Transfer Preferences

Chelsea and Liverpool have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as the player has reportedly ruled out moves to these clubs and expressed his preferred destinations.

After an impressive season with Napoli, where he scored 26 goals and provided four assists, helping the team secure their first Serie A title in 33 years, the Nigerian International has become a hot target for clubs worldwide.

The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid have all been linked with Osimhen as they seek to bolster their attacking options.

According to Italian outlet Il Mattino, Osimhen’s price tag has been set at up to £150 million, although interested clubs may aim to negotiate a lower fee.

However, it seems the transfer fee is not the only obstacle for specific clubs. Former Italy and Napoli midfielder Salvatore Bagni revealed that Osimhen has no intention of returning to France, ruling out a move to Paris Saint Germain.

Furthermore, he dismissed the possibility of joining Liverpool or Chelsea due to their absence from the Champions League.

Bagni suggested that Manchester United and Real Madrid would be the only suitable destinations for the talented forward.

Despite these preferences, the Daily Mail reports that PSG and Chelsea are preparing offers in the region of £130 million to secure Osimhen’s services, seemingly challenging Bagni’s statement.

Napoli, on the other hand, are determined to retain Osimhen after his influential contributions to their successful season.

The club has set a hefty price tag of £150 million to discourage potential suitors from pursuing a transfer.

The 24-year-old striker has proven himself as a prolific goalscorer. His impressive record for the just-concluded season makes him an attractive target for Manchester United, who are in search of long-term striking options.

However, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is known for being a tough negotiator, similar to Tottenham’s Daniel Levy.

With Osimhen under contract for another two years, there is no rush for the Italian club to sell, despite the player’s desire to play in the Premier League.

Chelsea, who have also been linked with Osimhen, have displayed a willingness to spend in recent times, suggesting that the significant fee involved may not deter them from pursuing the striker.

As Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, it will be intriguing to see if any club can meet Napoli’s valuation and secure the talented forward’s services, or if he will continue to lead the charge for Napoli as they aim for further success in the Champions League and domestic competitions.
