Arteta Says Leaving Arsenal Is ‘Inevitable’ As Barca Wants Him As Xavi Replacement

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has admitted it is “inevitable” he will one day be sacked in response to rumors that Barcelona is keeping an eye on him as Xavi’s replacement.

Arteta has been able to drastically improve Arsenal’s on-field results thanks to his distinct ideology and effective transfer strategy  Since taking over for Unai Emery back in 2019.

Arteta is deemed fit as a firm candidate for the Barcelona managerial job if Xavi is eventually let go by the Spanish giants, following their poor Champions League run.

Artehas enjoyed a sensational start to this season, guiding his side to the top of the Premier League table with 10 wins from their opening 12 Premier League fixtures. As a result, morale is currently sky-high around the Emirates with the Arsenal faithful dreaming of a shock title triumph come the end of the campaign.

Arteta may be the youngest boss in the Premier League but he is experienced enough to know just how quickly things can change in elite-level management. It is for that reason he has come to terms with the fact he’ll one day be axed from his post.

Xavi has failed to qualify Barcelona for the knockout stages of Europe’s most prestigious club competition for two consecutive seasons, piling increasing pressure on the 42-year-old manager.

The Gunners have emerged as serious title contenders for the English crown in recent weeks, thanks to their scintillating run of form. The north Londoners are currently topping the EPL standings ahead of Manchester City, having lost just once in their last 11 fixtures.

The Arsenal manager has led the Gunners to the top of the Premier League standings, with 10 victories from their first 12 games this season. The North London club are currently two points ahead of defending Premier League champions Manchester City, and will fancy their chances of winning their first league crown since 2004.

While the sentiment is moving, there might just be a small chance that Arteta jumps long before he is pushed amid interest from the first club he ever played for in La Liga titans Barcelona.
