Arsenal Suffers Double Injury Blow Ahead of Leeds Clash

Arsenal is facing a series of injury scares for their players going into the game against Leeds at the Emirates today.

Infoexpert24 reports that Mikel Arteta‘s side has a mountain of issues to deal with for the second half of the season, some of which would ideally be seen before Leeds United head to the Emirates Stadium for Sunday’s Premier League fixture.

Gabriel Jesus is a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to Leeds United on Sunday, while Mikel Arteta only foresees his side’s fixture pile-up getting worse after the World Cup.

When asked in his pre-match press conference whether Jesus would be available, Arteta responded: “I don’t know. Obviously, he has some discomfort after the game against Liverpool.

Arteta revealed that the 25-year-old was left out ‘as a precaution for the trip to Norway on Thursday, but it was thought that he would return to the matchday squad on Sunday.

“That’s why we decided not to bring him in [to Norway]. Let’s see how he is tomorrow [Friday] and Saturday.”

Bukayo Saka still has ‘lots to improve’

Speaking after the 1-0 win against Bodo/Glimt, in which the England international scored the only goal of the game, Arteta said: “He had moments in the game where he was really good and then moments he can improve and demand more of himself, especially defensively.

“There were moments where we allowed their left full-back to progress the play and break our press too easily. There are a lot of things to improve.”

Arteta’s comments speak volumes of the standards he holds over his players at the club, demanding that they improve all areas of their game even when the team is picking up strong results.

Speaking on Zichenko’s injury

Speaking ahead of the Gunners’ Premier League clash against Jesse Marsch’s side on October 16, Arteta explained that Zinchenko is still a doubt for the game, having missed the win over Liverpool last weekend with a calf injury.

When asked if the Ukrainian was a doubt for the match, Arteta replied: “I think so. With Alex, I don’t know, he has not been on the pitch yet. So we have to be a little bit calm.”
