Arsenal icon Ian Wright has urged Chelsea’s interim manager Frank Lampard to consider bringing the club’s underperforming striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back into the fold.
The Blues are finding it extremely difficult to find the back of the net and currently sitting 11th in the Premier League.
Lampard was brought in as caretaker manager on Thursday as a replacement for the sacked Graham Potter. His second spell in charge of the club did not get off to a dream start, with Chelsea beaten 1-0 by Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

With only eight league games remaining after Saturday’s defeat to Wolves, it’s evident that their best shot at securing a Champions League spot for next season is by first overcoming Real Madrid in the competition’s quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Aubameyang was left out of the Champions League squad by Graham Potter, but Wright is convinced that he should be reinstated for league matches.
Wright reminisced about Lampard’s previous stint at Chelsea, saying, “I remember him liking Aubameyang.”
“He will score the chances Chelsea are creating right now,” Wright insisted. “If Chelsea starts Aubameyang up front with Sterling or Mudryk or Felix – they’ve got so much to choose from – I swear to God, Chelsea can cook some teams.”

Wright’s advice to Lampard could be the key to turning around Chelsea’s fortunes and helping them climb up the Premier League table, as well as boosting their chances in the Champions League.
Chelsea, who have scored just 29 goals in 30 league games this season, travel to Spain to take on defending champions Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.
Aubameyang is not eligible for that match, having been left out of the Chelsea squad for the competition.
