Ahmed Musa
Nigerians are reacting to the viral video of Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa leading Christian choruses with his colleagues ahead of Nigeria V Lesotho in Lagos on Tuesday.
In the video the patrotic skipper can be seen with his team mates singing in a bus on their way to Teslim Balogun stadium which Super Eagles beat the Crocodile of Lesotho 3 goals to nil.
Some Nigeria are of the opinion that Musa as a Muslim is not suppose to join in the singing, while others praised the former Leicester City striker for his patrotism and show of unity.
Two things stand out: Ahmed Musa is a Muslim, and they have chosen him to lead praise and worship. In a country where Christianity and Islam seem to clash with claims of superiority, Musa has cancelled every form of debate with his heroic performance or so it seems.
In a world where social media has enabled people to dictate how celebrities live their lives, the skipper’s action does not go unnoticed.
Below are some of the Twitter reaction;
@EL_GEEZZE: Ahmed Musa leading praise and worship in the Super Eagles team bus before the game is the highlight for me.
Religious extremism is for poor people.
@maazi_chinedu: You watch this video and you see another reason to love Ahmed Musa.
